"Life is short"

When you hear the phrase "life is short."

YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT...

We live and plan as if tomorrow will always be there.
We laugh and enjoy the the pleasures of today. We just love our cars, our
homes, our friends and family, simply, "living life to the fullest."

How do you live life 'to the fullest'????
Is living life to the fullest to have fun; to be happy?
Is it to achieve our ambitious goals?

Even if we do have all the things we want and achieve our dreams,
is life really fulfilled?

"What profits a man if he gains the whole world
but loses his soul in the process?"
-Matthew 16:26

---
People come and go. There's always a beginning and an end.

Maybe the real question should be, what legacy will we leave
when we die? We can reach our highest goals, buy the biggest
house, buy the flashiest cars, become filthy filthy rich.
But all that we achieve, all the wealth, all the material things
will also die out eventually. The richest man in the world
will never know what happens to his achievements after he dies. Even
if he was able to see what his descendants were doing with his passed-on
riches, it'd take some divine intervention for him to do something about it.
So, wealth truly can't be a legacy...

---
There was a man in history who said,
"for me, to live is Christ
and to die is gain."
-Philippians 1:21

You might be wondering, what the heck does this mean?
I understand how many might feel about that quote but,
let's go back one verse real quick to understand more....

v.20 "I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed,
but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will
be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death."

The apostle Paul said this in a letter to the people of Philippi.
Is there anyone else with this kind of allegiance?
I mean, yeah, it's possible. For example,
the Secret Service and their loyalty to the President.
But with the next verse, to live is Christ and to die is gain,
there's a whole different meaning.

The apostle Paul was a persecutor who killed Christ's followers,
but one day he, ironically became a Christ follower himself and devoted
his whole life into spreading the Gospel out to the whole world.

MY POINT IS,
Jesus must have left some great legacy for some person like
Paul, a murderer, to radically change his ways and follow Him.
---> He died so that we may live. <---

"For God so loved the earth that He gave His only begotten Son that
whosoever believes in Him shall not perish
but will inherit everlasting life."
-John 3:16

To live is Christ, living in the joyful promises Christ has left.
To die is gain, dying knowing that ALL is in God's hands
and his faithful servants will be taken care of accordingly.

Paul was a murderer
of Christ followers
but was transformed into a missionary
for Christ.

And because of what he saw in Jesus,
he inherited that same legacy Jesus had. And that same legacy
is still being shared today through the bible,
the living Word of the one true God.

So, life is short. We will all die. No exceptions.
Tomorrow is never promised, that's why we call 'today,' the present.
What legacy will you inherit????

Dedicated to: My best Pakistani friend

This guy named Nasser(Nas) Khan(he's Middle Eastern;don't hate), I met him in my junior year of high school in my Spanish 1 class. He was real. So he became my friend and the friendship is still as real as real can be. Been friends for years, went through the times of xanga, friendster, myspace, livejournal, facebook and now...this guy, Nas, introduced me to this new blogspot trend. I shall use it for myself and to enlighten fellowsmen.  Yeah, this guy Nas has been pushing me to make a blogspot already so here it is. I hope he is freaking happy. Anyways, yeah, he's a good guy. Talk to him. I don't know who I'm saying that to but yeah, he knows his words very well. Very well...  This is he:
